The Akron Symphony Orchestra has been musically uplifting the Akron community since the '40s, presenting an annual season of classical, chamber, gospel, and children's concerts. It plays most of its shows at the acoustically sound E.J. Thomas Hall, an elegant venue on the University of Akron campus, a few blocks east of Canal Park. Past performances by the Orchestra include works by Mozart, Schubert, Beethoven, and many more.
