The private residence of the man who co-founded Alcoholics Anonymous, Dr. Bob's Home is considered the site of the beginning of this influential recovery program. Begun in 1935, when Dr. Bob stopped his own addiction, the historic home has the highly symbolic 12 stone steps leading up the front garden to the entrance, where visitors can see the site where this important group was founded. The house is located in a residential neighborhood a few miles northwest of downtown.
